Project Greaux Cenla
This is our brand new urban agriculture project that gives back to our community. We're in the "growing" stages of it, but we are creating something great to help out the great people of our parish by educating them on how they can start their own container gardens. We will be offering seeds and other tools, as well as education seminars, sustainable gardening tips, and other exciting stuff! Be sure to follow our Facebook page by clicking the FB logo below.
NACD
Every year, district members attend the National Association of Conservation District's (NACD) Annual Meeting, South Central Region Meeting, and sometimes the Summer Meeting to network amongst our peers from all over the United States and outlying territories. There is a lot to be learned from our national organization and we are proud members!
Forestry Awareness Week
Twice a year, District Tecnician - Bobby Carter travels to Kisatchie National Forest and Indian Creek Recreation Area to teach students about the importance of conserving our natural resources.
"Conservation means the wise use of the Earth and its resources for the lasting good of men." Gifford Pinchot
